SUNY IT IEEE Student Chapter Club Information
Our regular meetings are held every other Tuesday. The next meeting date, time, and location is posted on the front
page of this site. Special, or emergency, meetings may be called if special club needs or opportunities arise. Project groups have meetings at various other
times.
Our constitution may be viewed (MS Word DOC) or downloaded by clicking here.
Funds to run this club come from a variety of sources. The Club Funding Board makes provisions
from URSA for initial funding of all college clubs. Funding also comes from the
Mohawk Valley Section of IEEE. The club also runs
fundraisers. These monies are used to fund special projects, industry tours, guests speakers, and trips. All offices
and the club advisor are non-compensated positions.
Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff of SUNY IT. All students must be current on their student activites fee. Membership carries the
priveledges of project involvement, industry tours, speakers, and trips, as well as email to a preffered email address of
club news and reminders. Membership also carrries the responsibility of active involvement in fundraising and regular meetings. Active and voting members are required to
attend 3/4 of regular meetings. For more information on active membership, please see Article III, Section 2 of our
club constitution. To sign up as a member, please click here.
IEEE is a club that tries to facilitate projects for all students, at various difficulty levels. In the 2001-2002 academic year, our chapter sent a
project team to Suffolk University in Boston to win the Region 1 Micromouse competition. Our club is also a place where students and
other clubs may present ideas or problems and request assistance on their projects.
Our club has a very strict policy of protecting our members personal information as well as possible. All members fill out a
membership application, which contains the school's statement of information release. On this form, they may
opt out of including their names on public membership roles. Addresses and phone numbers will never be given on the web, or to anybody outside the club without the
members permission. Please note that this server (www.sunyit.edu) is not a secure server. For more information on the IEEE Privacy Policy, please see
privacy &
security.
Every effort is being made to bring members chances every month to hear different speakers and get industry tours. If you know of anybody, or if you,
would like to speak to our group, please email us. If you know of anywhere that would be able to provide
a tour, please email us.
